It's been awhile since I've been to VGIB...those very close to me know that VGIB is like my neighborhood "Cheers" - Cheers by the way was a hit tv show in the 80s. It's the name of a bar that pretty much functioned the same as Friends' Central Perk. To appreciate my analogy between Cheers and VGIB, here are the lyrics to the theme of Cheers:

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got. Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.

Wouldn't you like to get away? Sometimes you want to go

Where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came. You wanna be where you can

see, our troubles are all the same You wanna be where everybody knows Your name.

(Jetro VGIB Mastermind, Creator, and Artist)

VGIB was on a 2 month hiatus so when Jetro (VGIB owner) announced that he would be doing a trial run on a new and improved VGIB, you could imagine my excitement. I was pleased to find out that it now opens at 12noon. Happy, happy, joy, joy! On the day that I planned to go, I had a meeting that got rescheduled so I decided to go to VGIB early. When Jetro said there were changes he wasn't kidding. The restaurant is now a healing sanctuary where you are taught the "Art of Self Healing". Very novel and interesting concept. It's not for everyone. And so as not to spoil the experience for those who haven't been to VGIB, I will not detail my experience. It's more than just a "Cheers" to me. I can truly call it my healing sanctuary.

I ended up spending almost 12 hours at VGIB. More than what I got from it, the experience, the good food, the positive vibe, the quirky ambiance, and the personalized service (hey, everybody knows my name) it was so amazing to see my good friend Jetro in his best element, doing what he loved, what he was passionate about. It was evident that he was fulfilled but he's not about to stop just yet. He's only just begun. And witnessing that was the best high. I sat back in my oversized Victorian chair and watched him fuss over all the details, lovingly preparing the ingredients for each step of the healing journey. I loved and appreciated my friend even more.

My wish for everyone who passes through my healing sanctuary VGIB, in between those selfies, pic taking and social media posts, please take the time to breathe and be still and truly enjoy the process.

Remember to always be on the money, Honey!
